Bruce Bokor (J.D. ‘72) was named “Mr. Clearwater” by the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce. This is the highest honor in the City. He was honored for his 28-year history of serving Clearwater, including serving on the boards of Morton Plant Mease Health Care and its charitable arm, the Morton Plant Mease Foundation. Bruce is a former chairman of The Florida Bar Tax Section and a former chairman of the Pinellas County Estate Planning Council.
Brandon Faulkner’s (‘08) note Hacking into Data Breach Notification Laws, 59 Fla L. Rev. 1097 (2007) published in our December 2007 issue, was recently cited on the Duke Law and Technology Review blogsite in an online article at: http://www.law.duke.edu/journals/dltr/iblawg/index.php?action=showitem&id=25. Brandon’s article has also been cited by the North Carolina Banking Institute.
Ben Robinson’s (‘08) case comment Distilling Minimum Due Process Requirements for Punitive Damages Awards, published in the September 2008 issue of the Florida Law Review, was discussed in the Sept./Oct. issue of Florida Justice Association, the trade publication for the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers.
Diana L. Hayes’s (‘08) case comment, Bankruptcy Law: An Exercise in Statutory Interpretation — Staying True to the Broad Aim of the Code or Ignoring Plain Meaning and Purpose, 59 Fla. L. Rev. 697, was listed on the Bankruptcy Litigation Blog in “Davey’s Required Bankruptcy Reading.” (Go to http://www.bankruptcylitigationblog.com/ and then to Wednesday, October 8, 2008).
Mark Campbell (‘95) was recently appointed a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Narcotics Section working on cases developed by the Atlanta High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force.
