Hal Kantor graduated from UF Law in 1972, with honors, and served as Editor in Chief of Volume 23 of the University of Florida Law Review. While on Law Review, Mr. Kantor published a Comment criticizing a Florida Supreme Court ruling that denied assistance of counsel to indigent misdemeanor defendants. Mr. Kantor also published a Note discussing the plight of migrant farm workers in Florida.
In private practice with Lowndes Drosdick Doster Kantor & Reed, Mr. Kantor is consistently named one of the top lawyers in Florida, and he was recently named number 17 in a list highlighting Orlando's Most Powerful People. Power was defined narrowly, as "the ability to make your will prevail on community issues," and "who would you not want to cross in a fight."
The Florida Law Review was honored to have Hal Kantor with join us at our 2008 Senior Banquet to present the first annual Lowndes Drosdick Doster Kantor & Reed Law Review Book Award, which is made possible by generous donations by Hal and Vickie Kantor and the firm.
